The King’s Speech – Quotes

Un film sublime. Colin Firth merita l’Oscar.

Lionel Logue: Do you know the “f” word?
King George VI: Ffff… fornication?

King Edward VIII: Sorry, I’ve been terribly busy.
King George VI: Doing what?
King Edward VIII: Kinging.

Lionel Logue: My castle, my rules

Queen Elizabeth: My husband’s work involves a great deal of public speaking.
Lionel Logue: Then he should change jobs.
Queen Elizabeth: He can’t.
Lionel Logue: What is he, an indentured servant?
Queen Elizabeth: Something like that.

Lionel Logue: Do you know any jokes?
King George VI: …Timing isn’t my strong suit.
